A prophet who’s name means “the Lord has hidden” stands up to the mic and declares to the people that the day of the Lord is near. Twenty three times in fifty eight verses he says that phrase: “The day of the Lord.”
He says that the Lord is going to take a lamp and do a sweep of the land and he’s going to bring everything to the surface, all the counterfeits, all the rivals, everything to the surface. For he desires a remnant, a people who are honest and human and when that happens you discover a God who is with you and a God who is for you.
- What does “the day of the Lord” mean to you?
- What does it mean to you that God is with you and God is for you?
