What would Jesus tweet?
I’m sure he would frequently extend the invitation to “come follow me.” And I like to think that his timeline would be filled with #LoveWins, #BlackLivesMatter, #SayHerName, and more. And probably the occasional cat video, because everyone enjoys those now and again.
But perhaps the first question to ask is not “What would Jesus tweet?” but rather the same question with one word removed: “Would Jesus tweet?”
Would Jesus, the Word made flesh, continue to be the Word made fresh? Would God become incarnate both physically and virtually (both of which, by the way, are very much “real”)?
My technotheology says yes, Jesus would indeed tweet. Because Jesus is Immanuel, God with us, showing up in our real lives and our real world, even if only 140 characters at a time.
