Because She Was A Woman

My grandma shared her stories, how she was the organist and children’s choir director at her church, the one where she had no vote, no official voice. Because was a woman.

But, she continued to accompany and sing and teach, her voice rising.

And my voice joins with hers. And with Mary Magdalene’s and Lydia’s and Julian’s and Mother Theresa’s, a women’s chorus witnessing to the gospel — the good news — for all people.
