The Walls Are Unnecessary

We live in a world of divisions, where people misunderstand us and we misunderstand them. Perhaps what’s needed is a visit to a local gathering space, like the pub. There we can look in each others’ eyes, we can listen, we can begin to understand.

Over a beer or a coffee, I’ve found that something magical often occurs. We may not come to the same conclusions but we’ll very likely become friends. We may not think alike on every issue, but the walls, well, we begin to see that they’re unnecessary.

Isn’t that what we’re all longing for?
