The Church (with a capital C) is reformed and always being reformed. She’s a 2000 pound toddler slowly learning how to walk.
Just look back through the archives of Church history. It’s filled with more than enough blunders and mistakes but overall a trajectory of love and reconciliation. The Church today doesn’t always behave the same way she did yesterday, thanks be to God.
And I pray that the Church tomorrow continues this trajectory, opening her doors with a radical welcome, embracing the world with a revolutionary love.
What will the Church look like ten years from now? I don’t know, but I’m excited to find out and I’m with her every step of the way.
Are you under 40? Take the Transformative Church survey now.
- What are some of the “blunders and mistakes” you’ve seen the church make in your lifetime or throughout church history?
- Do you think that the Church is on a trajectory of love and reconciliation? Why or why not?
