The Truth

The truth will set you free.

It may anger, disappoint, or sadden you, but in the end, it will set you free. The truth will also require you (as truth teller or receiver) to do the hard work. Whatever that is.

The truth allows you to unravel yourself from perceived notions of truth; it allows you to undo whatever imagined truth you were wrapped in. That’s a hard process, to unravel yourself from perceived notions of truth. And it’s a process that people must be accountable to.

You offer someone the unadulterated truth, you must be willing to (1) deal with the fallout and (2) be willing to be present with them if needed.

  1. When has the truth angered, disappointed, or saddened you? When has it set you free?
  2. What perceived notions of truth do you need to unravel yourself from?
