If the focus of this story is about you or me or them or us – we have gotten it all wrong.
We are not the steadfast ones. We are not the protagonist, or antagonist. The story is not ours.
For God’s simple response is to remind us by asking… ‘Where were you when…?’
God never has to show up.
God never has to make the story about him.
God was already there. God was present. God is present.God’s response to injustice and wrong and hurt is simply to ask, “Where were you?”
