It must have been so empowering for Peter when he began to sink in the water.
Without that moment of failure he might have believed that it was Jesus who was doing the work. But when he began to sink he was validated that it had been him doing the work all along.
Steven Pressfield writes that “nothing is as empowering as real world validation, even if it’s for failure.”
Peter is validated, empowered. Peter walked on water.
