Aside from the opening soundtrack, this is the moment that I remember most from Chariots of Fire. Because this is the moment I have discovered to be true in my own life as an aspiring runner.
I feel the ground beneath my feet, the breath in my lungs, the pleasure and pain of my body. I feel the connection with other runners I pass, with the trail that countless others have run before me and countless others will run after me.
When I run I feel creativity, energy, insight, inspiration, invisible lines of connection between me and every atom in the cosmos. When I run I feel God’s pleasure.
