Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.
Abraham Joshua Heschel said, “Few are guilty but all are responsible.” At first I thought this quote was an indictment, and sure, in many ways it is. But recently I have seen how empowering that quote really is.
If I am responsible then I have a voice. If I have a voice then I have the capacity for meaningful action. And if I have the capacity for meaningful action I can be more than a bystander in a world gone awry. I can be a true agent of change in it.
