Back to Reality

“I want to be where the people are.”

These are the words sung by a legendary creature in a world of talking  fish and singing crustaceans. They are words of fantasy reaching for reality.

Which world do we live in? While it most likely is not this world “under the sea,” we project and perpetuate our own fantasy, masked as reality.

Perhaps Ariel’s cry is best echoed by another that says, “snap back to reality, oh, there goes gravity.” For it is from a fantasy world that we must cry out that we want to be where the people are. We must escape this matrix of our own making and come back to reality, even if for the first time.
