I love the psalms. They are very human and are filled with the highest of emotions and the lowest of disappointments.
Did you know that just under fifty percent of the psalms have lament themes in them? The disappointments of life are not new to us. Our ancestors of faith show us that life has been disappointing for many years.
So what do we do when disappointments creep in and wants to make a home in our heart? We bring our cries of lamentation to God.
Lamentation frees us to acknowledge disappointment while at the same time finding the strength to hope again.
