What I would say to my twelve year old self is this: There are times when it will seem as if your black self and your Christian self and your gay self are all at war. But do not be deceived but that foolishness. That stuff has been made up.
Sometimes this world can make us feel like we have to take on things that are not for us, and they’re not. So love yourself enough to educate yourself and be with yourself and you will find friends and you will find love and they will love you just for who you are because you really are ok.
