As we journey throughout our spiritual lives, we will often be tempted to settle into a theological perspective and claim it as our resting place. But to do so prevents us from the exploration and discovery, which is the very purpose of our lives.

We live in a world that is truly enchanted, and the Spirit that creates and sustains all things has heights and depths that defy our wildest imaginations. Eternity is our endless exploration of God. We shall never reach the end of who he is or what he can do. The deeper we probe, the more color and variation we will find.

This is what it means to be a nomad. One who is never content with simply settling down. One who always yearns to know what lies just beyond the next hill.

  1. In your own words, what does it mean to be a nomad?
  2. When was a time you experienced exploration and discovery in your spiritual life?

This recording is an excerpt from Nomad: A Spirituality for Traveling Light.
