Nobody Else Can Be Us

As an enneagram Four, I’ve noticed the process of integration between Four – the blocked creative constantly in existential crisis – and One – the crusading reformer. As we get out of our own heads, we grow closer to a healthy One.

When I walked through the Birmingham civil rights museum and soaked in the exhibit of idea-makers that influenced 1960’s America, I realized my affinity for singing and creating was the gift I had to contribute to justice. Nobody else can be us.

There’s no greater freedom from writer’s block than knowing that the art we produce bears purpose in the world.
