The only way to build something is with some thing. There is no “out of thin air.” Every object, every idea, every thing is made from something else, a cosmic collaboration of atoms and energy that are shared but never lost.
Even the Biblical stories of creation, the one that is often claimed to be “ex nihilo,” depicts a creation from something rather than nothing. It is creation ex materia or perhaps creation ex dio but it most certainly is not creation ex nihilo.
So stop staring at the blank page, waiting for your masterpiece to magically appear. Read a book. Watch a movie. Take a walk. Play a game. Listen to a podcast. For it is from something else that you will always make something next.
