I was walking through Target with my son the other day and as we made our way back to that back toy section we came up to that first row of toys and it was filled guns.
There were water guns in all their variety. There were nerd guns. Do you remember those plastic suction cup guns? And then of course there were cap guns.
And I couldn’t help thinking about the way his eyes were just glaring out at all this row full of guns and it made me ask some questions like, “What messages is my son receiving?” and “How is he learning to think about our world?”
What are all these guns shaping him to think about?
