Creative Extremist For Love

We cannot walk alone.

And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.

We cannot turn back.

In Letter From a Birmingham Jail, Dr. King uses the word “extremist” sixteen times. He was labeled an extremist by other clergy, pastors and priests who dismissed the creative outlet of nonviolent direct action as extremist and un-Christian.

I too used to be concerned and, like King, disappointed at being labeled “extremist.” But now I admit that I am an extremist: a creative extremist for love. (I even put it on my business card.)
