When we love we try to show our love by keeping track of things.
My kids show their love for me all the time: “Mom! Where are you?!” I have three children and they’re calling me all the time.
I also show my love for them by trying to keep track. In fact, it’s very human to try to keep track of each other. That’s why we have disciplines to show how we love God because keeping track and being mindful of God is one of the ways we do. We have to be in practice.
But when God loves us, God loves us by being the friend who we can call at any time during the day and that relationship is the same.
Because the love is the relationship and the relationship is not about keeping track. It’s about knowing the person and that kind of love is amazing.
