Life As We Know It

For those who are struggling with what this election means both personally and globally, I stand with you. For people of color, for LGBTQ people, for Muslims, for women, and for others who currently don’t feel safe in their homes, I am with you and for anyone to tell them to “get over it” or “rally behind the president now” is not helpful.

While some may hold to Julian of Norwich’s prayer “all will be well,” for others all is not well and may ever be well again. For all of us, life as we know it has changed and that’s not just about being dramatic.

What this election cycle revealed was deep pains, hurts, and ugliness. This election cycle didn’t create those things; this election cycle exploited those things and made invisible things visible and rather than attack them in the light, normalized them.

  1. What does this election mean to you personally?
  2. What does this election mean to us globally?
