Justice, Equity, & Fairness

My name is Hussein Rashid. I’m a native New Yorker. And I know the ways in which our bodies as people of color are policed and the ways in which we police ourselves.

I also know that to recognize Black Lives Matter is incumbent upon me, not only as a an American but as a Muslim, as a Shia Muslim who’s deeply invested and committed to notions of justice and equity and fairness. And to know that as we live in America it is on the profit making of the people who have come before me and how we each restore that economy and that justice to other people.

  1. Why do you believe that Black Lives Matter?
  2. What would justice, equity, and fairness look like in our world today?
