Judas

If Judas is guilty of anything it’s this: he didn’t believe he could be forgiven.

Whether his view of sin was too big or his view of God’s love was too small, the real tragedy of Judas is not that he betrayed Christ, for which of his disciples hadn’t, but that when Christ rose from death and stood among his disciples saying, “Peace be with you,” Judas wasn’t there to hear it.

I can’t believe that given the opportunity Jesus wouldn’t have returned Judas’ kiss, saying to him what he has said to countless others: “Your sins are forgiven.”
