Waiting has become an inconvenience. We want what we want when we want it. The slow cooker has been replaced by the microwave, our ability to sit has been replaced by one more level of candy to crush. We value hyper productivity and always-on efficiency.

But while this inability to sit without a device in our hands or a task on our mind can lead to getting more work done, it does not always correlate to better work. Because sometimes the best ideas appear when we allow ourselves to wait.

You cannot rush your creativity.
