Finding Home

I like the definition of feminism as the radical idea that women are people too. Mostly because I’m a smart ass. But where I’ve really found my feminist understanding is in the bosom of womanism.

It was like finding home. I have answered the call to be, as Dr. Emilie Townes says, “a justice seeking, whole human being.”

Womanist feminism is seeking justice for myself and others. That others might live as whole, fully alive in their humanity and that I might do the same.
