Ice cream always tastes better after your bedtime.
Growing up my grandma would always have Orange Sherbet and Cookies & Cream waiting for me in the freezer. And once my mom went to bed (which meant I was supposed to be asleep too) she would open the freezer and fill a bowl with more scoops than I could count.
And while the scandal of this frozen midnight snack might be one reason it tasted so good, I’m guessing it had a lot more to do with the person scooping the ice cream and sitting across from me in the kitchen.
People make every meal taste even better. Especially when it’s ice cream after midnight.
