Thinking & Feeling

I’m a Five, and that means that I lead with thinking, with analysis. I’m also a Latin@, so that means I’m pretty direct.

So, combined with a critical edge of analyzing everything and my racialized directness, I tend to work really hard to uncover injustices through my commitment to thinking deeply.

I’ve learned over the years that I need to connect with my body, and with my feelings. And, while I don’t separate mind from body or feelings, I’ve been trained to privilege my mind and thinking, and to only connect with my feelings in ancillary ways.

Justice making for me who is a strong Five with a Six wing means that I need to also commit to feeling my ways though my thinking and enacting intersectional justice not only in profound ways, but also in contemplative ways.

So, for me, I embrace my Five-ness and I am always working hard to bridge together thinking and feeling as I live out my vocation as an activist-theologian.
