The F Word

An expletive is a word that cuts through a moment, impacting the world around you in a visceral way, a punch in the gut and an outburst of emotion conveyed in a way that other words cannot.

When the “F” in “F-U” is “forgive,” it can function as an expletive, cutting through to the heart of a matter and creating the possibility of another world. Rather than holding on to anger and animosity, this F word does more than free the person you say it to.

Because anger and animosity will not leave you truly satisfied but simply move the chip from one person’s shoulder to another’s. “F-U” is not about letting them off the hook but is about letting go of the wounds you carry around.

God wants there to be an F word in your life:
God wants you to be forgiven.
God wants you to forgive.
God wants you to be free.
