A Philosophical Deficiency

When equality is an ideal but never actualized we suffer from a philosophical deficiency, our ideas only making it as far as our head but failing to reach our hands.

An ideal might change the way we see the world, giving us voice to claim we see all people as inherently equal, but it can fail to change the way we live in the world, perpetuating structures of sexism and gender inequality.

You can’t really hold hands with someone who’s always wearing a pair of gloves.
