A Celebrity Driven Religion

Christianity is inherently a celebrity driven religion.

Celebrity is engrained in our culture and it’s part of the roots of the Christian story. Christ is a celebrity.

Christianity needs celebrity because it needs a bridge, an accessible version of its ideology that’s available to the wider world. While this can be a problem, it is not a problem with celebrity culture, but with who the celebrities are and with what their celebrity represents.

Christianity doesn’t need to abandon celebrity. It needs to create better ones.
