Stop Building Bridges

It’s easy to become so focused on what you’re trying to do that you don’t stop to ask whether or not you should be doing it in the first place. It’s like Rochelle King once said, “Let’s ask whether the river is worth crossing.”

I can too easily gravitate towards whatever shiny object is fluttering past my range of vision. I’m always most excited about my most recent idea but I’m not always sure if it’s my best idea. I can get swept up in my enthusiasm and forget to gauge my own level of fulfillment.

I need to stop and breathe, to step back, to extend empathy to the world around me and to my self. Sometimes I need to stop building bridges and make sure I’m aiming for the right shoreline.
