Your Box Is Too Small

We create a system or structure, call it “the church,” and convince ourselves that we’ve captured and contained God within the exclusively holy ground of our temples and cathedrals. But this elusive an apophatic God cannot be contained by these boxes, which means the self-declared people of God are not defined by them either.

The people of God will always be broader than those who claim to bear that name of God. God does not belong to Judaism, Islam, Christianity, and the like. Rather God is found in the midst of all people, the spirit and energy that unites (and occasionally divides), comforts, and confronts.
