God’s Beloved

When I was six, I knew I adored the pretty blond girl on the swing set instead of the boy on the tire swing.

When I was eighteen, I came out to my mom who told me she’d always love me.

When I was twenty-one, my pastor asked me to leave the church and told me God was disappointed in me.

When I was thirty, I married the love of my life.

When I was thirty-one, I graduated from seminary and was approved for ordination to the Christian ministry.

You are God’s beloved, in whom God is well pleased, no matter who you love or what kind of body you have.
